The Southeast Texas Veterans Service Group is honored that we are allowed to assist in providing final military honors for our veterans who have faithfully and honorably served our great Country. It is our mission to provide final military honors for the veterans who join those who died while in service to our Country; and to provide some solace and an understanding for the family of the sacrifice and service that their loved one gave to our Country through military service.

We thank you for providing Final Military Honors for our father.

On January 22, 2019, members of your group accompanied a detail of the United States Navy and provided full military honors during the interment service for my father, a United States Navy veteran of World War II. Your members also provided spiritual uplift to our entire family by conducting themselves in a truly military and professional manner. Our father taught us that honor, duty, and service were some of the greatest things that we could do for our country, our families, and ourselves. Five of his six children served in the United States Navy and the United States Army. While we will miss him dearly, the mementos that we were provided during this ceremony will truly remind us that as a World War II veteran, his generation was truly the Greatest Generation of our time. We salute your organization’s members and you for continuing to provide funeral services to our fallen comrades.

Words are not sufficient…

July 25, 2020

Words are not sufficient to express the gratitude of our family for your presence at our father’s funeral. Hearing you speak of his service to the country that he loved so much brought us closer to him than you can imagine. Dad was self-deprecating about his service because he felt that others had done so much more. He supported a variety of military organizations dedicated to veterans, but still he always wished he had done more. However, he did what he was asked with pride and dedication, and you honored that as if it were as important as the war heroes Dad admired. And it made me realize that without corporals, there would be no war heroes or sergeants or 5-star generals. Or a country called the United States of America. Thank you for your continued service to your comrades. I hope that you are able to reach many families the way that you reached ours. Taps never sounded as beautiful as it did that day, and it was the perfect good-bye to our father.

Thank you for making a day…

April 26, 2022

We wanted to say thank you all so much for your service to our country and for helping with my dad’s service at the graveside. The presentation of the flag and the playing of TAPS was so comforting to our family and friends. The soldiers that participated were Professional, but also very kind and respectful.

Thank you again for making a day that was hard for us so comforting.

Always grateful…

Our family thanks you for providing Honors for DR’s memorial service. He didn’t think he deserved them. We did. The Navy played a large role in the success of our family. They took a young man, helped him mature, guided him in developing skills and provided him with the means to graduate from university. Most important was it gave him the confidence to be the caring, loving husband and father that he became.

Thank you so much for your generous gift of time to provide final military honors to veterans. My husband … and I were deeply moved during the graveside service for J.A.J., my husband’s brother, who served in the Korean War. We enclose a donation to help support your important work. We give in honor of J.A.J. and his brother K.J. who also served in Korea.

“…The compassion with which you spoke…”

December 30, 2022

Your organization did an impeccable job of providing Military Honors for my Dad, W. T.'s service, December 12, 2022. The skill & respect with which you handled our nation's flag, was awe inspiring. The compassion with which you spoke to my Mother when presenting that flag was bone chilling. It was as if she was the only person in the room. The information you shared with us regarding his military service was more than any of us had known about his time in the Army. The flag, shell casings, and dog tags will be treasured heirlooms for our family. We could never thank you enough, and have told several people about the amazing work of your organization. From the bottom of our hearts... Thank You!! Your are truly doing God's work.
Sincerely, DJ

Dear Southeast Texas Veterans Service Group,

Thank you sincerely for honoring my dear Papaw at his funeral on February 4th, 2023.  He was a 96-year-old World War 2 veteran and an awesome man.  Petty Officer Second Class Robert Rose and his team performed an absolute beautiful ceremony for him.  My husband and I are both Marine Corps Veterans and we were highly impressed with your team.  Thank you.  It’s greatly appreciated.  You all are a great representation of Texas, Veterans, and the Navy & Marine Corps.  Thank you so much.  Your service at my Papaw’s funeral meant the world to my whole family, we were incredibly touched.  My Papaw was KJB and he would have been so impressed!  Semper Fi!   S and LC,  Sgt. & GySgt. I want to thank the members of the Southeast Texas Honor Guard…

April 22, 2023

I want to thank the members of the Southeast Texas Honor Guard for their participation in my uncle’s funeral.  About a year ago you did my father’s funeral and I was so impressed I told my aunt that she had to have you do her husband’s service.  I want to also thank you for allowing me to participate in the final salute to my uncle.  This must be something new because you did not do this for my father’s service, I wish that you had done this for my father's service. Allowing me to join in the final salute made me feel honored to be a part of my uncle's service and honored to be a veteran.  Thank you so much.

Thanks to each of you that donates your time and service…

Mr. Kevin G. was laid to rest. A former Police Officer and a member of the United States Army serving his country during a time of war. Your organization started the service off with a 21-gun salute, taps and presentation of the flag to his wife, Trudy. As a former member of the Armed Serves, your presentation was emotional to the audience and a sign of Honor to Sgt. Kevin G. Thanks to each of you that donates your time and service to recognize the service of others. I can not thank you enough. From each of us that said Goodbye to our friend we are grateful for your presentation and continued service to our country.
