The Southeast Texas Veterans Service Group’s [SETVSG] membership may be composed of veterans, reservists, or members from all branches of the United States armed forces and the United States Coast Guard who have been discharged or are serving under honorable conditions.  Our members provide their service, talent, skill, and time, without compensation, to fulfill the missions of the SETVSG.

The SETVSG provides all needed uniforms and accessories to complete its missions.  Members wear the uniform of their final branch of service with their final rank and decorations that are approved.  The uniforms will be provided at no cost to the new member.  Each member is responsible for and is required to maintain their uniforms in the highest standard at their own expense so that their appearance reflects positively on the SETVSG and the United States military services.  All members take personal pride in their appearance, military dress, and military bearing while in uniform and while performing the SETVSG’s missions.

Proof of the character of an applicant’s discharge from the military may be in the form of a DD-214, discharge certificate or other official documentation.  This proof should be attached to the Application for Membership.

 OUR MEMBERS

The Southeast Texas Veterans Service Group (SETVSG) consists of veterans from all branches of the United States Armed Forces including the Army, the Marine Corps, the Navy, the Air Force, and the United States Coast Guard.  Members of the SETVSG may be veterans, active-duty members, or reservists.

Our members are primarily from the Golden Triangle and surrounding areas.  We have members from Jefferson, Orange, Hardin, Jasper, Newton, and other counties.  We consider for membership any veteran who meets the criteria for membership and who is willing to dedicate the time that is needed to assist in providing our services within our service area.  The SETVSG consists of veterans who were either enlisted or officers.  As a volunteer organization, there is no rank structure within the SETVSG.  However, when in uniform, we do observe military courtesy when in public.  There are times when we work alongside active duty or reserve components of the Armed Forces and military courtesy is required.
