Mission Statement

The Southeast Texas Veterans Service Group (SETVSG) is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization which is dedicated to providing final military honors to veterans from all military branches, the United States Coast Guard, and World War II Merchant Mariners who served under honorable conditions*.  The SETVSG’s final military honors provided to our fellow service member may bring solace and comfort to the family of the departed person.  The final honors rendered assure family and friends that the service and sacrifices of their loved one was appreciated by our nation and the military.

The SETVSG also conducts, assists, and participates in patriotic community events, memorial services, and honoring veterans and active-duty military members through programs, events or celebrations.  The SETVSG participates in local community functions such as Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Veterans Day; as well as at community schools and organizations to provide information on and honoring the flag, our nation, veterans, and to encourage support for our Armed Forces.

The services performed by the SETVSG are provided at no charge to a veteran’s family.  SETVSG relies on donations to enable it to perform its mission and services.  SETVSG receives funding through donations from a variety of civic and patriotic entities as well as from individuals, donors, and families who understand and appreciate the importance and significance of the SETVSG’s mission.

*Final military honors may be rendered for any veteran or active-duty member who has not been discharged under dishonorable conditions or as the result of a bad conduct discharge.
